Back to the Future If it took us 10 years to get it over the 80´s, why 20 years later are we again on them? Now everyone is putting them on graphics, fashion, movies and music, being 80s is cool, why? Why???? What is more surprising or sad is that the "creative" people is diggin it!! And big time!! Why go back? is their imagination over? Did they even have one in the first place? Cause its the only thing we have?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trend Religion There are a lot of people in the world right now, and the fact that we civilized persons have access to internet and such ways of interact and communicate with our other similar ones, are aware of it, we tend to find connections, to be on the net, we try hard not to be left behind, and trends became a useful tool on this task, trends involves: fashion, music, language, gadgets, and many more things that works as cultural distractions from the very basics human needs. Well, so we are here in this trend ride, and no body wants to miss it, everyone wants his ticket, be on some trend, be part of it, feel it, smell it, some says it smells like the newly open box of a Iphone, some other says is like the smell of a Starbucks coffee, I just know that a lot of people get passionate with it, it seems that we have reach a Trend Religion kind of state, with Steve Jobs as the Pope. Like I was saying on the first lines of the first paragraph, the awareness of being one person on this world, full of other ones, open the door to the big perspective of being one and being alone, so in this scary situation we tend to look for some guide, some light that help to carry this solitude in this non-sense life, and there is where we throw all our faith and devotion to products, that with the help of the marketing magicians, this products turn into experiences, experiences that will bring life to our pale everyday and habitually front-on-screen days. I consider my self a persons that appreciate aesthetics on anything, but is hard for me to feel passion about a product, I can say an Iphone is pretty, a Starbucks coffee is fine, but I really don get it. Why the passion? How can feelings grow over the sterile material of manufactured product? Are these the safety-blankets for the urban souls of our times?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Google is for all and we all are for him Google have made an individual democracy for each one of his users, this one (user) is touched by the virtual understanding that goggle seems to have about him; he (google) looks worried by our tastes and hungers, and always available to answer our questions. Is almost like a father.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Democracy = Mediocrity I have been always intrigue by the idea of the masses, all his bad use of power in to social developments along the history, all maybe because is easy to shape it in to a useful forms for the benefits of the few, I think that’s why is called mass, dohhh!!. Now we celebrate the Net as the more democratized use of technology ever, where everyone from any where can make his or her point about something, with subjects from everyday issues to political statements, and so on, blogging, chating, uploading content that we think represent us on the vast world of the www. And why we think this make us a more free civilization? I mean we are talking about the Net, the Web, you see is all about the meaning of the words, usually we understand these words as synonymous of traps, don’t we?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What after youtube.com? We use to believe that TV people was unreal and special in a way they deserve to be on TV and be worship for everyone in home; but then reality TV came , first trying to be a social experiment on the first big brother, then the experiment was throw away by the idea of become famous and rich like the old TV people we use to love, and then reality TV evolve from a social experiment to a global way to bring TV audience to a almost dead television market, but people start to see the traps there, they didn’t became all famous not even rich, reality TV became then in to a freak show, where people was used to make money for big enterprises. Now everyone says: “Oh youtube.com is the best cause we can say what we want and get connected with other people like us…bla bla bla”. But c’mon a lot of them want to be discover, want to be worship, like TV stars or movie ones, want everyone to know how talented and handsome he (she) is, or how smart and creative is his last post on youtube.com, and they dream with a million dollar contract for do the same but on a movie or TV show. But lets face it, how many from the infinity of users that youtube.com have are going to make it that way, just a few, what will be the reaction of all the left ones? How much time is going to take for all them to realize that is not going to happen? Right now youtube.com is doing millions with the stardust illusions of all his free of charge employees (users) that upload content everyday and every hour from all around the world I’m not criticizing the business model from youtube.com, but just thinking out loud: |
